Ho Chi Minh City, 1 November 2007 –
Food&HotelVietnam2007 (FHV2007), the fourth International
Food & Drinks, Hotel, Restaurant, Bakery & Foodservice
Equipment, Supplies & Services Exhibition and Conference
ends today, attracting a total of 8374 business and trade
visitors from all over the world.
Spreading across three halls of the Ho Chi Minh International
Exhibition and Convention Centre (HIECC), FHV2007 occupied
7,000 square metres of exhibition space and drew international
participation from 11 group pavilions and 240 exhibiting companies
representing 22 countries/regions. This is testament to the
internationality of the exhibition, having created opportunities
for exhibitors and visitors to forge important business links,
and capitalise on promising trade opportunities between local
and foreign companies.
As Vietnam’s choice international food, beverage and
hospitality trade exhibition, FHV2007 has attracted a diverse
range of visitors, including professionals from the F&B,
hotel, restaurant, hospitality technology and equipment sectors.
Exhibitors at the event were happy with the quality of trade
buyers that visited the exhibition.
“This show is excellent, one of the best. All the exporters
are very happy. We are coming back, that is for sure –
with a bigger booth!” said Ms. Margaret Say, Regional
Director, USA Poultry & Egg Export Council.
“I am very pleased to receive serious inquiries from
a Vietnamese buyer from the Northern Region. The quality of
the exhibition this year is good and it has exceeded my expectations,”
said Mr. Pham Thai Hoa, Chemical Engineer, Director, PTH Manufacturer
Trade & Service.

third time participating and the evolution in the Vietnamese
market over that time is remarkable. Now we can communicate

Buyers who visited the exhibition were also pleased with
the comprehensive range of international products and services
showcased at the exhibition.
“I am a regular visitor to the exhibition and I came
this year to source for new food suppliers and distributors.
I found that the exhibition offered a good spread of international
exhibiting companies, and even on the final day of the show
I can see many visitors streaming into the halls. A successful
show!” said Ms. Cassie Sia, Area Financial Controller,
Somerset Ho Chi Minh City.

distributors in Vietnam. I have visited every Food&HotelVietnam
shows and will most certainly come back again in 2009,”

Within FHV2007 were concurrent events such as the exciting
Vietnam Culinary Challenge, where Vietnam’s top culinary
chefs demonstrated their culinary creativity to the highest
level by pitting their skills against their professional peers.
The competition drew a total of 69 participants from leading
F&B establishments in Vietnam, including the Grand Hotel,
Majestic Hotel, Vietnam Air Caterers, Sofitel Hotel and ABC
Bakery. Gold winners included professionals from Vietnam Air
Caterers and Songbe Golf Co. Competition sponsors included
the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, Fonterra Brands,
New Viet Dairy, Charles Wembley (S.E.A.) and Nhat Nam Fine
Foods.
The FHV Food Safety Seminar has ended with a great showing.
Held on the second day of the exhibition, industry experts
offered seminar participants their different perspectives
of the issues currently faced by various industries, and introduced
the various systems and methods that could be adopted by F&B
professionals to ensure proper implementation of food safety
and hygiene.
“The seminar has shown excellent potential opportunities
for the food industry business in Vietnam, which has an extremely
exponential growth. The seminar participants from Vietnam
have displayed keen interest to learn on the various methods
to improve their knowledge of food safety, especially on HACCP
and ISO22000 systems. I am glad to know they have gained valuable
knowledge from attending the seminar,” said Mr. Lawrence
Low, Food Safety Director, Gourmet Food Safety Consultancy
– Asia Pacific.
“There is tremendous potential here in Vietnam, and
I am glad to participate in such a well organised and international
exhibition. It has provided me with a bird’s eye view
along with specific leads into the market. I was doubly heartened
at the quality and interest of the seminar participants who
showed an earnest and keen interest in food safety measures

FHV2007, is jointly organised by Singapore Exhibition Services
Pte Ltd (SES) and VCCI Exhibition Service (Vietchamexpo),
and endorsed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam
National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Vietnam
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The show received
government endorsement from the Ministry of Industry and Trade,
the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam
National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), and the Vietnam
Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI).
